The Binlang Soil and Water Conservation Outdoor Classroom was originally a orchard of the Taitung Area Agricultural Research and Extension Station. The area is enclosed by mountains on three sides, forming a secluded patch of land ideal for the growth of Valencia oranges and citrus. The majority of the fruit trees on the slopes here bear the citrus fruit.
The gently sloping grounds of the Beinan area, which sits on the eastern foothills of the Central Mountains, is an excellent example of slopeland orchard. Facilities include automatic slopeland agricultural machinery, automatic irrigation systems, a level 2 agricultural weather observation station, and a solar automatic weather observation system.
The Beinan area is conveniently located from the Taitung City. The orchards and picturesque scenery here make a pleasant day out for families. The soil and water conservation facilities are also ideal for elementary and junior high school groups, fruit farmers, as well as the general public.
