Tongsiao is reknown for its close vicinity to the west coast of central Taiwan. However, the mountain scenery in this area is also worth visiting. The Agriculture Section of Tongsiao Township Office and Soil and Water Conservation Bureau jointly developed recreational facilities in Nanhe and Fusing villages. With the addition of paths, orchards, woodlands, ponds, and huts dotted along the mountain trails, Tongsiao has emerged as a major tourist attraction in Miaoli County. New facilities not only improve living quality for local residents, but also attract a large number of visitors, adding vitality to the rural community.
The villages of Nanhe and Fusing are located at the southeast of the Tongsiao Township. The area is dominated by a vast expanse of gentle undulating hills. Local agricultural produts include mainly rice, citrus fruits, wendan pomelos, and pastures, are the main sources of income. The Jintian Farm in Fusing has a large variety of fruits as well as scenic recreational trails, ponds, and scenic viewpoints. Jintian Farm offers picturesque views over the green valleys of the Tongsiao area, it also offers visitors activities of hand-picked fruits. Visitors will be able to see traditional three-sided family residences and farmhouses in the surrounding valleys. The Feiniou (flying cow) Dairy Farm is another local attraction nearby.
