Longtan is blessed with unique geological features and stunning natural scenery. Rolling hills, expansive ponds, and lush tea plantations offer refreshing open-air atmosphere. This area has long been a major tourist attraction in Taoyuan County.
The scenic Sanshuei Water-and-Soil-Conservation Outdoor Classroom, set up in 1997, is situated at the Longyuan Leisure Farm in Longtan Township. In addition to a full range of soil and water conservation facilities on site, there are two large ponds for dredging underground water from the landslip area. The ponds, ideal for fishing, help to prevent flood in this area.
The rural enrichment and beautification project carried out by the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau has not only made transportation and production more convenient for the residents, it has also improved the environmental quality of working and living for local farmers and attracted visitors from urban areas. Visitors could enjoy the simple living style in countryside, stroll in the park, or hike along many constructed trails. Sanshua is ideal for outdoor activities such as barbecues, picnic, hiking, fishing, camping. Suggested itinerary include one or two day trips in this area..
